Life of Street performers

I've seen a lot of street performances, and I'm sure if u're in this part of the world even u'd have. But have we ever cared to see their actual faces, faces behind those painted smiles??
I spent a few moments with them.. and the conversation with the lead performer MANJUNATH went somthing like this..

HE- en sir press avra??( are u from the press?)
ME- illa hage sumne photo tegitidini( no i'm just a hobbiest-photographer)
HE- ivag ivag nim anthavaru tumbane jasti jana idaare( there're too many people like u clicking   photos)
ME- oh..!
HE- illa sir avag vijaynagaradallu tumbane photo tegdidru.. (there were many who clicked when we performed in vijaynagar)
ME- hmm
HE- alla.., adella en maadtira sir?(wat do u do with all these photos??)
ME-hage sumne.. ad ond thara chata( just like that, its a kind of addiction!)
HE- ellargu ondalla ondu..( every one has one or the other!)
we both laugh

I guess this madness, this curiosity led me to follow them for some 2km from my home and wait till their performances were over. All these just to see the actual faces behind those smiley mask.

A few pic's of them during the performance

Now man know wat it takes to be a horse.  taking some rest after a short performance

A few faces from the Indian Market

She'd a very interesting outlook which was hard to ignore.

I was just moving around clicking photographs, when he asked me to take his photograph.
He gave me some flowers and refused the money too.. Street photography has its own advantages.!!

This person interestingly told me that he has vowed not to shave his beard till his leader becomes a minister.!!

Sun, Sea and Me..!

Tannir Bavi Beach-Mangalore

When I first reached there at around 10 a.m there was no one there except a Kulfi vendor who was far away on the main road
After an hour or so a group of guys came by.. were there for some 20 min. and after that it was back to square one-Sun,sand and the sea n Me
After a few trial shots, got quite a decent snap of water splashing

The place where I took the photograph, the water level was nearly up till my chest and the waves were hitting hard.I wanted to capture that swirl at any cost(I really don't now why!)...
I took out a plastic cover and put the camera into that. Then as and when the waves approached I'd click it and quickly put the camera in the plastic cover and lift my both hands up to protect the camera from the splashing water.
Did some 9 trials before I got this one..!

There's a hint of Kerla in every part of Mangalore

Fishermen joining the old nets with the new ones.. Near Sultan Battery, Mangalore.

On my way to Tannir bavi beach.
To reach the place, one has to take a ferry service. It's a quick 5 min ride, with an intermediate stop in between!!
